The emergency services coordinator, Joe Roma, advises the chief executive and department heads on emergency preparedness and operation matters. During emergencies, Joe serves as chief of staff or the director. The coordinator’s daily role is build local readiness for emergency operations.
Joe Roma coordinates local programs and activities to conform with State and Federal agencies and maintains liaison with the Regional and State coordinators to obtain guidance for improving local plans and programs.
Carroll Emergency Medical Services
Carroll County EMS was established in July of 2000 out of a need to supplement the county volunteer agencies. The agency began with one ambulance that was staffed ALS from 6am - 6pm.
Now the agency is known as Carroll County Fire Rescue running three ALS staffed ambulances 24 hours a day - 7 days a week using 24 hour shifts with 48 hours off. Carroll EMS also operates an ALS first response vehicle on week days from 9am to 5pm which responds on all ALS dispatched calls in the county. We have thirteen full time and several part employees.
