Carroll County Offers All Residents Prescription Discounts

Terri Bowman says she saved almost $25 the first time she used the card.

Carroll County is saving many of its residents hundreds of dollars on prescriptions with discount drug cards. They are for residents regardless or age, income or health insurance coverage.

The cards are good at any pharmacy in Carroll County, and they provide a discount of about 27% on medicines.

County resident Terri Bowman has already seen the benefit. She says "The one prescription I got was $102 before I used my card and it brought it down to $77. So anytime you can save money, it's a good thing."

More than 1,000 families have signed up for cards so far, and county officials say in three months, the families have saved a total of more than $16,000 over the last three months and growing.
