The Commonwealth's Attorney, GREGORY G. GOAD, is the chief law enforcement officer of the County and provides advise and assistance not only to the Sheriff's Department, but to various police agencies in the county.
The office is responsible for the prosecution of all criminal and traffic cases in the General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, the Circuit Court of Carroll County, and all felonies on the Carroll side of the City of Galax.
The office is comprised of a Commonwealth's Attorney and two administrative assistants.
The office also works closely with the Victim Witness program.
